On the 5th of September 1870 in Amsterdam 'Die Port van Cleve' opened its doors. The name of 'Die Port van Cleve' originates from the previous building on the same spot 'Het huis te Kleef' dating from 1592 in which Heineken brewed his first beer. The unique interior was put up with oak and original Delft blue tiles representing children playing adults in a parade. This performance was inspired by historical parades from the 'Golden century'. This interior with all its marvellous decorations is still available in all its glory.
