The zoo is open seven days a week from 9 in the morning till 5 in the evening. During the summers, the closing time is extended by one hour, that is, the zoo closes at 6 instead of 5, in the evening. However, if you don't want to walk, you can take tram number 9 from the station or number 14 from the square, to reach Artis. If you are driving to Artis, then the zoo has its own parking provision. Tram 9 from Amsterdam Central Station stops close to Artis at the Plantage Kerklaan stop. Trams 10 and 14 also stop within walking distance of Artis. The closest metro station is Waterlooplein. It is a 10-minute walk from the metro station to the zoo entrance.
