Madame Tussauds is a wax museum, which has branches in several major cities. It was originally founded by Marie Tussaud, who happened to be a wax sculptor. At Madame Tussauds, you can see and admire the world's biggest celebrities, face to face. Although, they are replicas, they look so real that you would be expecting them to move any moment. Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam was opened in the year 1971, and was the first branch to be opened outside of UK. At Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam, you can do more than just watching the life like wax statues. It is an interactive experience here, and you can enjoy a ride with Lance Armstrong, or have your soccer skills tested against Ronaldinho, or you can also do some rap with Ali B. You can even get a picture done with Brad Pitt, but don't tell anyone back home that this is a wax statue of Brad Pitt; since, if you don't tell, they will never know.

At Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam, additions are made regularly; so, even if you have been here earlier, it is still recommended that you visit this museum again.

The opening times for this museum are from 10 in the morning to 17.30 in the evening, 7 days a week. During summer times, the museum is open till 19.30 in the evening. There can be some changes in opening and closing time on certain days, so check in advance.

The entrance cost is around 23 Euros for adults and 20 Euros for children from 5-15 years of age. Children under 5 are allowed free.

The museum is located at Dam 20, 1012 JS Amsterdam. The location is around 1.5 KMs walking distance from Amsterdam Central Railway Station. If you prefer, you can take tram number 9, 16, 24 from central station to Dam. It is less than 2 minutes walk from here to the museum.
